Anne-Sophie Cerisola joined Strategic Perspectives on a part-time basis as a Senior Fellow in January 2025 to grow the think tank’s political reach and impact.
Anne-Sophie brings over two decades of expertise in international climate diplomacy, policy development, and global governance. Her career includes leadership roles at the United Nations and the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In her role as Senior Fellow, Anne-Sophie will work closely with the team on European and international diplomacy, the EU’s energy cooperation and bilateral partnerships. Before that, she served as Director of the Climate Action Team in the Executive Office of the United Nations Secretary-General, where she led preparations for the 2019 UN Climate Action Summit, helped design the climate strategy of the UN Secretary-General and coordinated global efforts to drive climate commitments. Earlier, she served in the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and as Special Advisor to the French Climate Ambassador, contributing significantly to the success of COP21 and the Paris Agreement.
Anne-Sophie’s career also includes high-level roles within the French government, where she advised on international development, environmental diplomacy, and biodiversity policy. Her global perspective is further enriched by her experience in Brazil as a counsellor for global affairs to the French Ambassador and her academic contributions as an associate professor at Sciences Po and adjunct faculty in US academic institutions.
Anne-Sophie is a graduate of the Ecole nationale d’administration (ENA) and holds a PhD from New York University.
Anne-Sophie’s wealth of experience in international climate politics, negotiation processes, and multilateral frameworks will help advance Strategic Perspectives’ mission to strengthen the EU’s role on the global level.
